Harriet was born in Houston, Texas, raised in a loving family that instilled Jewish values – primarily tzedakah – and to be engaged in helping others. From Young Judea, and B’nai Brith Girls, and later B’nai Brith Women, she was a joiner, an organizer and a doer.
Harriet’s greatest accomplishment are her three sons, who she raised as a single Mom through their teen years – now, they are all successful and kind men.
Her day job involved marketing. She ran a $50,000,000 division managing marketing data. She then transitioned to Chief Privacy Officer protecting our marketing data and helping our clients comply with the then burgeoning privacy laws.
Harriet was invited to speak at a conference in Tucson in 2003. She could not wait to hike and fell in love with the Catalinas. As she was speaking and meeting with clients, Len rented an apartment. That winter they explored Tucson and went to JCC’s Shalom Tucson. Then they knew we had found their idyllic retirement community and joined Or Chadash in 2005.
Len and Harriet helped create “The Jewish Food Festival” for four years, and Harriet organized the Rabbi’s first congregational tour of Israel. Outside of OC, she was a board member of Brandeis National Committee (Tucson), Social Venture Partners and most recently Sister Jose Women’s Center.
She loves Tucson. She loves Or Chadash. Harriet is honored to be elected to the Board of Directors.
