Congregation Or Chadash has many committes that help the congregation carry out its work. Committees also provide congregants with an opportunity to be involved in a volunteer capacity. Your skills and interest are vital to the congregation. For information on any of these committees, contact Steve Schuldenfrei, Board President, at email@example.com.
Building and House Committee
Safety & Security Subcommittee
New Light Subcommittee
Adult Education Subcommittee
Religious School Subcommittee
Caring Chavurah Subcommittee
The Caring Chavurah enriches the support provided by the Rabbi and Cantor in their clerical functions. To this end, they provide both phone and home visits; hospital and nursing home visits; transportation services (doctor, shopping, etc); bereavement (meal after services); new baby services; and Chevra Kadisha (ritual preparation of the dead). This committee has been active since the beginning of Congregation Or Chadash.
The Chavurah Committee fulfills the religious, personal and family needs of congregant families by helping those with similar interests to connect with each other, thus creating a “family within a family.”
The Outreach Committee connects with the unaffiliated by offering programming and activities in the community at large.
The FriendRaising Committee provides social events that are designed to create community and share fun times together. Whether this is a lunch with a speaker or a night at the Gaslight Theater, a fun time is had by all.
Shalom Lakol (Interfaith Subcommittee)
The Interfaith Committee reaches out to those in interfaith relationships, either with immediate or extended family members. Our participants may be interfaith, in the process of converting, or may already have completed conversion.
