At the June meeting the board received a report on the state of security on our campus. Funds from the Family Foundation were reallocated to allow for improvements to our facilities, including adding panic buttons and additional cameras to the property. Additional possibilities, including armed security, will be discussed by the Security Taskforce and presented to the Board next month.

The Budget and Finance Committee recommended that an “internal loan” that has been on our books for many years be removed via journal entry, as all funds have been accounted for and it causes confusion to people reviewing out finances. The Board accepted this recommendation. A policy defining who is eligible for member rates when purchasing a cemetery plot was discussed and approved. Bev Sandock, the chair of our new “Fund Development” committee, presented her vision for the committee and the initial list of events and efforts they will be undertaking.

Finally, the outgoing Immediate Past President, Steve Schuldenfrei, thanked the Board for allowing him to serve Or Chadash for the past eight years. He specifically thanked Ben Vogel for his service as president, and welcomed Ben to the “Past President’s Club”.
