Tucson’s First Annual Jewish Cook-Off and Food Festival

A New City-Wide Food and Fun Event !




Coming to Tucson, the first Annual Jewish Cook-Off and Food Festival will be held at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park on Sunday, November 9th 2008.

   The day will have three major events – A Cook-Off and a Food Festival and great entertainment for children and adults.


   The Cook-Off will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.. Non-professional (amateur) cooks from the greater Tucson area will be invited to pre-register and enter the contest in these 12 categories:
    *  Brisket    *  Stuffed Cabbage
    *  Vegetarian Wild card     *  Knishes
    *  Chopped Liver    *  Cheesecake
    *  Blinzes    *  Kugel
    *  Fish Salad    *  Sephardic dish
    *  Mandelbread    *  Rugelah

   Local Chefs, food critics and celebrities will judge the contest and winners will be awarded Blue Ribbons for the Best in Tucson – in each category. Judges will be supported by a team of workers who will handle the logistics and food flow.

   The Food Festival will be held from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a wide assortment of Jewish-style and Kosher foods available for purchase. In addition, continuous entertainment and a children's area with activities. Price is $2 adults, children under 12 free.


   The local chefs/restaurants who participate as judges will also be invited to prepare, using their own recipes, for sale, specific Jewish-style foods.

   Other restaurants and bakeries (kosher and vegetarian) will be invited to sell their food products.

   Sponsorships continue to be available.
